Lekki Central Mosque
The Lekki Central Mosque is one of the most inspiring and outstanding Islamic centers in Nigeria. It is located in Lagos State, South-Western Nigeria, which has a preponderance of Muslim population. Situated particularly at No. 81A Hakeem Dickson Street, Lekki Scheme 1, the Lekki Central Mosque is not only a Centre for spiritual rejuvenation, but also a citadel of learning where various scholastic and scholarly activities take place daily.
Facilities
Sitting on 1.3 Hectares of land, the Lekki Central Mosque Complex consists of a 2000-capacity main bowl, a 15-classroom Madrasah, a functional library with over 2000 books and e-book facilities, 5000-capacity Eid prayer ground, a 150-capacity ablution centre, a 1000-capacity multipurpose hall, 3 semi-detached flats which serve as Imams quarters and guest house, 2 service boys’ quarters, and an administrative office equipped with modern technology. Owned and managed by the Lekki Muslim Ummah (LEMU), the mosque is run strictly based on the Qur’an and Sunnah of our noble Prophet (peace be upon him).
History of Lekki Muslim Ummah
The Lekki Muslim Ummah (LEMU) is an umbrella organisation for all Muslims in the Lekki Peninsula area of Lagos State, Nigeria. Founded in July 1999, the primary objective of the organisation is to propagate Islam strictly based on the Qur’an and Sunnah of our noble Prophet (peace be upon him). The organisation is also out to foster unity among Muslims generally, and engender mutual understanding and socio-economic co-operation among the Muslims in its community. Membership of the organisation is open to all Muslims who subject themselves to Quranic injunctions, the Hadith and Sunnah of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).
