LEMU Youth Annual Calendar (Oct 2025 – Sept 2026)

Introduction

This calendar is designed to provide a structured, engaging, and spiritually uplifting set of activities for the youth community of Lekki Muslim Ummah (LEMU). It blends educational programmes, community-building events, outreach efforts, and fun social gatherings. The aim is to nurture faith, skills, and relationships while strengthening our sense of belonging and responsibility as Muslim youth in today’s world.

Below is the detailed month-by-month breakdown, with tentative weekly scheduling and explanations for each activity.

October 2025

  • Week 2 (Sunday, October 12): Online Webinar on Taxation
  • Week 4 (Sunday, October 26): Potluck – A relaxed community gathering where everyone brings a dish to share, fostering bonding, conversations, and stronger connections among youth and families.

November 2025

  • Week 2 (November 9) — Outreach ‘Serve Your Neighbour’: A visit to a hospital (Island Maternity) to distribute maternity needs, offset bills.
  • Week 4 (November 23): Potluck – A relaxed community gathering where everyone brings a dish to share, fostering bonding, conversations, and stronger connections among youth and families.

December 2025

  • Week 1 (December 7): Youth Conference: ‘Finding a Partner & Islamic Finance’ – A major event with scholars and professionals addressing marriage readiness and Islamic finance.
  • Week 4 (December 28): Community Day – An intergenerational day with Qur’an quiz for kids/teens, sports tournaments, food stalls, potluck corner, storytelling zone, and elders’ wisdom-sharing circle.

January 2026

  • Week 2: Week 3 (Sat, Jan 17): Coping with Anxiety as a Muslim Youth: A casual but insightful live conversation with an expert guest.
  • Week 4: Sisters/Brothers Only Self-Care Circle – A safe, private space for sisters to discuss mental health, self-care, and spiritual growth.

February 2026

  • Week 1 (Sat, Feb 7): Pre-Ramadan Spiritual Prep Workshop – Guidance on intention-setting, fiqh of fasting, and maximising Ramadan (Part 1 — Physical)
  • Week 2 (Sat, Feb 14): Pre-Ramadan Spiritual Prep Workshop – Guidance on intention-setting, fiqh of fasting, and maximising Ramadan (Part 2 Online)
  • Week 3 (Tue, Feb 17): Ramadan Begins
  • Week 3 (Sat, Feb 21): Ramadan Potluck 1 – Youth iftar with reflections and Qur’an recitations.
  • Weekly (Throughout Ramadan): Short Tafsir WhatsApp Sessions – Mid-week bite-sized tafsir to stay connected.

March 2026

  • Week 1 (Sat, Feb 28): Ramadan Potluck 2
  • Week 2 (Sat, Mar 7): Ramadan Potluck 3
  • Week 3 (Sat, Mar 14): Ramadan Potluck 4
  • Eid Fair (Sun, Mar 22) – Outdoor family fun with games, food, and social bonding.

April 2026

  • Week 1: Post-Ramadan Reflection Circle – Youth gather to share lessons learned during Ramadan, practical tips for sustaining ibadah, and personal growth takeaways (Physical)
  • Week 4:  Online Qur’an Recitation & Tafsir Challenge – Encouraging memorisation, tajweed, and understanding of Qur’an

May 2026

  • Week 2: Week 3 Resume & LinkedIn Clinic—This is a practical career-building session with live reviews and tips.
  • Week 4: Online Webinar: Youth & Social Responsibility – A session on civic duty and the Islamic perspective on community service.

June 2026

  • Week 2: Online Career & Mentorship Summit – Panel sessions with professionals in law, medicine, tech, and entrepreneurship etc
  • Week 4: Teen Activity: Junior Skills Day – Teens showcase and teach simple skills (coding basics, art, calligraphy, baking, or sports) to peers and younger kids, encouraging leadership and creativity.

July 2026

  • Week 2: Couples Panel – Married couples discuss challenges and lessons in building strong Muslim homes.
  • Week 3: Teen Workshop – A candid talk on friendship, peer pressure, and Islamic guidance.
  • Week 4: Kids Storytelling Day – A lively storytelling programme with Islamic tales and creative activities for children.

August 2026

  • Week 2: Youth Conference – A conference on ‘Faith, Future, and Leadership’, including keynotes, debates, and workshops.

Reserve

  • Wellness Workshop – Practical guidance on managing stress, building resilience, and balancing spirituality with survival pressures.
