LEMU hosts Ramadan da’wah workshop on youth and societal development

The Lekki Muslim Ummah (LEMU) held a Ramadan Da’wah Workshop on March 1, 2026, at Lekki Central Mosque, Lagos.

The workshop was held at the Vice Admiral Jubrila Ayinla Multipurpose Hall of the mosque and was themed “Islam, Youth and Societal Development.”

Dr. Ridwan Jamiu, Chief Imam of Lekki Central Mosque, delivered the first lecture on the “Roles of Muslim Youth in Islamic Propagation and Societal Development”. He emphasized that young Muslims must actively engage in da’wah (inviting others to Islam) through exemplary character, knowledge-sharing, and community service, positioning youth as key drivers of positive societal change rooted in Islamic values.

Alh. Nasir Giwa, Co-ordinator and Grand Mentor of the NGM Platform, spoke on “Harnessing Youth Potentials through Mentorship”. He highlighted the transformative power of structured guidance, urging experienced leaders to mentor young Muslims in spiritual, academic, and professional spheres to unlock their full potential and prevent societal pitfalls.

Hajia Sesan Sulaiman, Partner at Templars, addressed “Dealing with Corporate Challenges: The Islamic Perspective”. She explored ethical dilemmas in workplaces, advocating adherence to Islamic principles such as honesty, justice, integrity, and avoiding riba (usury) or unethical practices to navigate modern corporate environments successfully while upholding faith.
